JULY 2023

THANK YOU!

Wow! As I sit here brimming with excitement reflecting on our first month of opening, I want to begin by writing thank you for supporting this wee shop! Running a small business is no small feat. It truly takes a close-knit team of friends, family, and all of you to show up, share and be here with us. We've grown to 200 fibre friends joining this space so thank you for your enthusiasm and encouragement!

I learned so much from this month of opening. Specifically, how to be better connected on socials (it's hard keeping up), balance in-person events while building an engaging online shop and most importantly, continuing to learn new dye techniques so that you'll think of us in your fibre needs!

Currently, there are 5 yarn bases to choose from and we are planning to introduce one or two more during Fall and Winter. I am thinking [Ingrid in a skinny fingering/sock weight single, and/or a tried and true DK weight yarn]. I can see both fitting well for certain projects so let me know which base(s) you want to see in our shop next.

Speaking of Fall and Winter, countdown calendars 2023 are in the works! This is something that I am really looking forward to making and designing. It will not be holiday themed (in case Christmas isn't really your vibe) and it does not have to start in December (or it can if you want it to!). Right now, I am planning for 28 minis (solids, variegated, non-monochromatic fade) in a Painter's Palette 🎨 theme. Calendars will be offered in limited quantity and it will be available online and at in-person events. Pre-orders will be available if you want to be guaranteed a calendar and snag one before it goes live!

Please please send us an email [info@hokohokofibreco.com] if this is something that piques your interest! We are open to suggestions (yarn base, size, minis or minis and a regular skein?). This helps us tremendously in calculating how many calendars to make and if this is a yay or nay product to create.

Lastly, Knit Club Thursday ran 3 consecutive sessions and we were able to complete the Sophie Shawl by PetiteKnit. Details below. 👇

I didn't promise to make this newsletter short haha! Thank you for this peachy month to reflect on and thank you again for taking the time to read our first HOKOHOKO Happenings (name still pending).

Happy making fibre friends!

With care,

Elizabeth 🌻
